Middle School Sing Along

You all know that Christmas time is such a busy time of year. This year I have been a little down you could say. Not in the mood really to do Christmas stuff and all. Maybe lack of snow or mounds of things that kept piling up that I just keep putting off. So every day Tanner would practice his viola and play his songs. Well last Monday I did get the tree put up, with 10 days to spare before Christmas. We all went to Temple Square and saw the lights. I have not seen them in years. My children have never seen them. Last Saturday we went to a Christmas concert. But I still could not seem to get the Christmas spirit. Well I am happy to say that I have found it. I went to Tanners school today. And they did a sing-a-long. Then I realized I have not been singing any Christmas songs. I did not join the choir and I have been a humbug with songs when they would play on the radio. So now I have 1 week to celebrate and then take the tree down and return to normal what ever that may be. Merry Christmas to all of you.

Graduation from N.O.V.A

Tyler Graduated from the NOVA program this week. It is kind of like the DARE program but a little more involved. The officers come into the school every Wednesday for the past 15 weeks for an hour and they do hands on experiments. They wore glasses that made them see as if they were drunk. They did rockets. They even did a frog experiment. Tyler loved these two officers. The one on the left is Deputy Douglas and he live down the street from us and we go camping with. Lots of fun with that family and the other is Deputy Oppenshaw and Tanner had him last year. Just nice officers. I am so glad for this program. The children really learn from them.

This is Tyler's teacher Mr. Torrey and Deputy Oppenshaw and Douglas.

Good job Tyler. We Love you so much!!!

Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day was great. It was at my mom's this year. And as you can see by Wayne's outfit the Eagles were playing. Well I would not call Thanksgiving day a very good football day cause all the games were blow outs but the Eagles won and that is all that mattered. I have many things to be grateful for.
There always has to be some kind of football game of our own. Here are all the boys messing around. Wayne is not aloud to play still. He has no more sick leave till next year so he just has to watch.

This was tons of fun to be a part of. Guitar hero is fun if you have never played. Everyone tries to outdo each other. I am still the queen though. Now Tanner he can win everyone. And Roger well let's just say he tried.

Hope every ones holiday was filled with happiness!!!

Tyler Taking on the Stairs

So here is how the day before Thanksgiving went in our home. Uncle Brent was arriving to replace the door handle in Wayne's truck so his door would finally open from the inside. Wayne was in the garage talking with the garage repair man cause somehow the top panel of the garage door folded in on itself and crumpled causing $200 plus in damage when all of a sudden I hear and feel a loud crash. I ran to the back door and in runs Tyler sobbing. I can't tell if he is hurt or scared but this is the damage I find. He said he could not hit the breaks in time. (I think he hit the gas instead) anyway my mother told me things come in 3's so that was my third. Tyler is just fine and Wayne took it well. Just some 1x1's and screws and we will be good as new.

Boys Will Be Boys?

I found this picture on my brothers face book page. It just makes me
laugh. It was taken 5 years ago in our home in Hyrum. Tanner was
6 and Tyler was 5. They were so tiny and cute. Now they just love
to talk back and tell their mom she is so weird and uncool.
Hey it's my brother Weston. He just returned home from his mission
last Monday. It is so good to have him back home. This Sunday is his
Homecoming talk. He served in New York. Way to go WESTON!

Happy 14th Anniversary

Well I can't believe it but we made it to number 14.
It's really tomorrow but I am home sick and thought I
would let you see our old wedding pictures.
This is me and yes was I young. We got married 2 months
after I turned 20. This is our engagement picture that went in all the invites.
Wayne looks so young at age 23. We dated for 2 months
and were married 2 months later. Some say we would not
last very long. But I married my best friend and I love him
so much. He takes very good care of me and I am sure I
could be a better wife. He deserves the best.

I threw in this scrapbook page cause I wanted to show you the cake.
I tried to take the picture off the page and it started ripping so
you get the whole thing.
On our wedding day I showed Wayne the cake and told him the
bottom 2 layers were fake. So he was interested cause it looked
so good. He took his index finger and ran it across the frosting.
I could not believe he did that. I asked him why and he said
cause you told me it was fake. I then told him the frosting is
not fake just the foam under it. Needless to say we had to turn
the cake around so no one could see the smear. I was upset
then but now I think it's funny. Only Wayne!

Happy Anniversary!! We both have head colds and are miserable
but we can make it great by eating soup. It cheaper than steak
and we can eat it on the couch in our sweats and sweatshirts.
Maybe next year at 15 we can do something cool like get the
flu. HAHAHA

Jumping for Candy

One of my very bestest friend and neighbor Alisha took this picture
of the boys messing around and I had to post it. She is the best
and has a way better camera too. If anyone needs a wedding pics or
newborn pics she is your gal. Check out her website at
www.Oakstreamphotography.com you will be glad you did. Your awesome
Alisha.

Halloween Pumpkins

I was able to get some kind of shot with my camera for our pumpkins.
I just wanted to show how they turned out. I noticed every one of them
looks better in the dark. Funny how that works
I did the philly eagle. Go Eagles!!

This is Tyler's taiki hut man. He did the tracing and I helped cut it out.
I thought it turned out better then I thought it was.
Tanner made his own template. He made an Atlanta Falcon. It looked
hard but he tried.

Trick or Treat?

This year my boys were old enough to go trick or treating with
friends. I got to stay home and pass out candy. I have not stayed
home in 12 years to do this. I bought 120 pieces of candy and
worried that I did not have enough so I went to the store to by
200 more pieces. Well I guess cause we live on a street that
only has houses down the one side we did not get many trick or
treaters. At least I bought yummy candy to haunt me for a while.
We carved pumpkins the day before Halloween. With the warm
weather I thought we better wait till then so they don't dry out
and look old. Tanner did a falcons pumpkin and Tyler a taiki man.
They turned out well.

From Left to Right. Neighbor Dakota, Tyler, Matthew, and Tanner.
1 clown 2 grim reapers and 1 mad scienctist. What happened to the day
when I could dress them up so cute? They are, I have been told, long
long gone.

Our Cute Little Boys

These two are so cute even if I am just the mom!
This is the image of the boys I should have in my head when they do something crazy.
Like spill all of the deep fryer oil all over the pantry. I am sorry to say I am still finding
remnants of that day.

They just had to clown around in the tree. Tyler always wanted to be bigger
than Tanner anyway.

From left to right Terry, Shelly, Aline, Brent and Wayne. I really like this picture.

Our New Family Photos

Last week we had the
anual family pictures
taken for christmas.
This is a sneek peek
for anyone who wants to see.

Wayne told the
photographer that he
wanted a picture of
just me for his wallet.
Hope this is what he wanted.

Our first couples picture in a long time.
Our anniversay is in a couple of weeks
and it will be our 14th. Man how time flies.

So these are 2 of the pictures I
am thinking about ordering at
least the family ones. Leave me a
comment and tell me which you like better.

Huge Shout Out

Brent is in the middle of his cute wife Alishia and my father -in-law Craig.
Ok well I just have to publicly thank my brother-in-law, Brent Nielsen. Without him our little family would be in a world of hurt. Our townhouse in Logan was recently vacated from the last renters. And let me just vent a little. I get so tired of dirty, smelly people. This place was not trashed as bad as other times but plenty of holes in the walls and doors needed to be replaced. We have spent many hours trying to fix it up so now we can sell it. Anyway Brent talked us into redoing the floors in hardwood and is helping us lay it. Or should I say he is doing all the work. Wayne and Brent hung a brand new beautiful front door and now we are going to replace the cabnites. It is hard work and it is nice to know you can depend of family to help you out. So I know he reads the blog every once in a while but really THANK YOU BRENT!!!!!!!!!

More pic coming soon- Stay tuned!!!!

Tanner wants a Dog Like this

So Tanner had control over the camera and all the pictures he took was of this dog. He really took about 12 pics. He also took a scenic picture too and the tree in front of the trailer. I think I need to send him to photography school at least its digital.

Here we are at the fire on a very cold and rainy day at the camp out.

Last Campout of the Year

For General Confence we all went camping. We went up Hyrum Canyon with the 2 little neighbor boys and The Douglas' down the street. We left Thursday evening and it was a beautiful day on Friday. Now Saturday was a mess. It rained and rained. Tanner's football team made it to the playoffs. So we got up at 6am to be there by 7:30am. It rained and the wind blew the whole game. Needless to say they were playing 8-9th graders and our team in 6-7th graders. But they held their own and the other team only got 26 points. We are out of the playoffs but we had a great year and Tanner says he wants to play again. But it was a good weekend and I really enjoyed listening to conference in the trailer.

Here I am with the machine gun. This thing was awesome

Tyler and Kylee playing. Don't tell Tyler but I think he likes this girl!

Whew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is how I am feeling right now. This was taken a couple of years ago. Is he not the cutest?
Well, it's finally done. At least the rough draft is done. It's the primary program for over 130 children. It is in 1 month and I am already stressed!!!!!!!!!!!! Wayne says not to worry cause people only listen to their child, but I want it to sound well. Especially the songs. They are not very loud for how many of them there are. Next month I think we are just going to work on songs. They might be sick of them but at least they will know them. So wish us luck. I now have to get the bishops approval but I think it will be fine.

Pack Meeting

This is Matthew our neighbor and my 4th boy. Him and Tyler are best friends and they each have 2 homes to eat, sleep and play at.

Next to Tyler on the right is his friend Craig. When they get together they look like twins. Same age and same size.

Last night we went to Pack meeting for scouts. There was an Arrow Of Light presentation. And after the presentation they had all of the scouts lay on the floor starting with the Wolfs then Bears then Weblos. It was to represent the bridge from the youngest to the oldest. Then boy moving from cub scouts to Boy Scouts walks across their backs and on into the boy scouts.

The Scripture Olympics

Here we dressed up as Book of Mormon people.

These girls are the oldest. They are trying to hold up the weights the longest. I don't know what they are doing with the things on their forhead.

This is little Diego. He was trying to blow Nephi's ship to the Americas

Boy am I glad this one is over. It was a lot of work but the children had a great time. I was able to borrow a Goliath from a friend at work. He was over 9 feet tall and we had the children stand next to it to see how they compared. We wrapped Ding Dongs in gold paper with red ribbons, so everyone could earn a gold medal. We also did the 10 commandments, Nephi's ship, tower of Babel, Noah's Ark relay and shoot Samel the Lamanite. My counselors were great help, I could not have done it without them.
